Started Programming

• Started learning how to code in the Java programming language in 2015

• Set up my first IDE with Eclipse using JDK and the Minecraft Forge API to make my first mod

• I later found Python where I started learning basic algorithm design and started reading from documentation sites as my main source of knowledge

• Thank you YouTube for helping me get started, BYU-I for an amazing education, and Codesmith for giving me the opportunity to continue learning alongside teaching.

Career

Software Engineer

• Experience at Amigoes gave me leadership roles where I conducted meetings with other software platforms to ensure optimal app development

• Frozen Dessert Supplies provided me with experience with multiple new technologies such as GraphQL, TypeScript, and Liquid code

• OS Labs has given me an opportunity to contribute to the open-source community and solidify many concepts at deeper levels as I worked with engineers with diverse career backgrounds

• My favorite of my open-source projects has to be SurfQL

• I worked with an amazing team to develop a VSCode extension for GraphQL

• SurfQL is a complete tool for developers that work with GraphQL that provides:

• Auto-complete suggestions

• Query visualizers

• A splash site and a publushed Medium article

• Clean documented code to encourage community support
